November 21 - Officiated by an all-Canadian team, the US beat Uruguay 27 - 6 to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

November 16 - All the best to Derek Stoltz in his appointment as Assistant Referee to the second leg of the USA v Uruguay World Cup Qualifying match on November 21 in Florida.   The US won the first leg 27 - 22 so, with a place in the World Cup on the line, the second leg should be a match to remember.

2010 Canadian National Panel of Referees Announced

Congratulations go out to four ORRS Panel Referees as they have been promoted to the National Panel of Referees.  Andrew Hall, Andrew Hosie, Andrew McMaster and Karen Lozada have advanced from the Focus Group and now join Derek Stoltz and Joyce Henry as representatives from Ontario on the National Panel.

Other Rugby News

Another defeat by Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday could send Australia plummeting to their lowest ever position of sixth in the IRB Rankings.
Wales were the biggest climbers in the IRB World Rankings, up two places to sixth as a result of their 33-16 win over higher-ranked Argentina in Cardiff.
Japan completed a November Test match double over Canada on Saturday, beating the Canucks 27-6 in Tokyo.
New Zealand have returned to the top of the IRB World Rankings following their win over Italy and South Africa's loss to France.
Asian champions Japan scored six tries as they thrashed Canada 46-8 in the opener of their two-match Test series in Sendai on Sunday.
With all bar one of the top 20 sides in action this weekend - be it in Europe or RWC qualifiers in Africa and the Americas - there is plenty of scope for changes in the IRB World Rankings.
Canada coach Kieran Crowley and his selectors have named the squad that will take on Japan and Russia in November.
The United States have made two changes for their Rugby World Cup qualifying second leg clash with Canada in Edmonton on Saturday.
The US Eagles celebrated Independence Day with a hard-fought 12-6 victory over Canada in Saturday's Rugby World Cup qualifying tie.

Earlier this week Scotland's Hugo Southwell spoke of using Saturday's game against Canada as a springboard for next year's Six Nations, and why not?
Scotland captain Mike Blair has urged to unleash their ruthless streak in Saturday's final autumn international against Canada on Saturday.
Argentina may currently occupy fourth position in the IRB World Rankings, but were they to lose to Ireland at Croke Park this weekend then they could lose that position to England, France or Wales depending on results elsewhere.
Scotland have been forced into four changes for Saturday's third and final November Test against Canada at Pittodrie.
Following one win and two losses in Europe, Canada coach Kieran Crowley believes his side's final Test against Scotland on Saturday will be the one to measure the mettle of the team and success of their tour.
Wales are hopeful James Hook will not become the latest injury absentee of their November Test series.
