During the summer months in Ontario, we can expect to encounter thunder and lightning.  Usually it arrives about 3pm on a Saturday!

Rugby Canada has established guidelines for taking precautions against lightning.  These are contained in the publication "Guidelines for addressing thunderstorms and visible lightning" .   ( Catchy title, eh! )

As a referee, you should be familiar with these gudelines and be prepared to take a leadership role in their implementation.
