The Nations Cup is the top Women's event in the World after the Women's World Cup.  Six of the top 8 teams in the World will be there.    Action starts on Monday August 10 at Appleby College.   Onatrio is providing two referees, Joyce Henry and Karen Lozada, plus numerous Assistant Referees and support officials.  (See separate article for more detail).

The National Festival is being held at Fletchers Fields from August 8 to 12.  Age grade teams from all the Provinces will compete for the National titles for Under 16 Men, U17 Women and U19 Women.    Five Ontario referees are on call - Derek Stoltz, Andrew Hosie, Andrew Hall, Andrew McMaster and Karen Lozada. 

Meanwhile the Ontario U18 Men will be at the Canada Summer Games in PEI.  Assisting there will be Ontario referees - Derek Stoltz, Andrew Hall, Andrew McMaster and Joyce Henry. 

Steve Harland, RFU RDO for SW England, will be visiting all the Branches during his stay in Ontario which begins on August 6.

The first final of the new Junior A League will be held on Thursday August 20 at Fletchers with the final of the Ontario Womens League following on August 29.  

With the new League set-up, all Ontario and Branch Leagues are complete by the end of August.  Yes, there are just 4 more weeks of competition in August to determine the champions of each League.    We can expect some intense and exciting Rugby.

To assist us with the workload, we have 3 referees visiting us from Northumberland (England) - Cieran Hutchison, Dave Chambers and Martin Page.   They will be travelling around the Province.  If you run into them, please make sure to give them a warm welcome.
